Your Data and Privacy

Short version: your data stays on your computer, and Orbeex collects nothing.

What stays on your computer

• Your map files and projects.
• The full history of your actions.
• Your AI API keys, stored in your operating system’s secure storage.

What Orbeex (the project) collects

Nothing. The Orbeex project does not operate servers that store your data, does not track you, and does not include telemetry. Crash reporting, if you ever use it, is manual and you see exactly what is sent before anything leaves.

When AI features are on

AI is the only situation where anything leaves your computer — and only when you switch it on:

Sent	Your request text, plus basic facts about your data (column names, coordinate system, area)
Not sent	Your actual map data — coordinates and values — unless you explicitly allow it

You choose the provider and use your own account. You can switch to a local model that runs on your machine, and then nothing leaves your computer at all.

Regulation-friendly by design

Because processing is local and nothing is collected, Orbeex fits privacy rules like GDPR naturally. For organizations with strict rules: use local models and the software works fully air-gapped.

Deleting everything

Remove Orbeex and its data folder, and it is gone. There is nothing on our side to delete, because there is nothing on our side.
