Using AI with Orbeex
AI features let you request map work in plain language. Instead of building each step by hand, you describe the goal, and Orbeex proposes the steps for you to approve. AI is optional. Everything in Orbeex also works without it.The key idea: you approve, it executes
The AI does two things:- Understands your request — including follow-up corrections in normal language.
- Prepares the steps — which data to open, what to calculate, what to produce.
Which providers you can use
Choose from OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), DeepSeek, Qwen, or a local model that runs entirely on your own machine. You use your own account and key, and switching or dropping AI later is a setting, not a commitment. What leaves your computer
When AI is on, Orbeex sends only what the model needs to understand the task — your request and basic facts about your data, never the map contents themselves. What is sent, and how to keep everything local with a local model, is in Your data and privacy.Full privacy alternative: a local model
If your work is confidential — survey data, infrastructure, anything regulated — connect a local model (for example through Ollama). Then the AI runs on your own machine and nothing ever leaves it. You get the plain-language workflow with complete isolation.Guardrails that are always on
- Risky actions need explicit confirmation — with a preview of what will change.
- A spending limit per session prevents surprise AI costs.
- Every AI-proposed step is recorded in the history exactly like a manual action.
